Hello fellow fashionistas! In the realm of fashion, anticipation often rivals excitement, and with the arrival of spring, it's no different. As if lifted from a crystal ball, nearly half of the trends forecasted by the Vogue Runway team have already made their way into stores, offering a glimpse into the season's lookbooks. As many of you have likely noticed during the warm days here on campus (crossing our fingers for more), which brought out individuals from all walks of life with even more diverse styles, the fashion scene this season is brimming with a myriad of moods and influences. While we anticipate the emergence of micro-trends as the season unfolds, there are a few chic standouts that I would love to highlight today! This marks the return of white outfits, classic trench coats for rainy spring weather, calming ice-blue colors, and clothing made from lightweight, breathable materials.

Starting off with the comeback of white, dresses, skirts, and tops in white are definitely hinting at a more minimalist approach this season. You may be thinking, white is always prevalent during spring, the season of brides and new life, what is different? Labels such as Tove, The Row, and Ferragamo styled with a plain woven fabric called poplin have evoked an easy, breezy sensation with a modern twist. I have seen individuals style low-waist skirts and dresses with XXL belts, which would be a perfect accent if you were thinking of styling a white dress. You can also find this carefree vibe at Toteme, Cos, and Staud if you are looking for a more affordable option. Also, loafers are an absolutely essential addition to this minimalist spring look!

The other day, I was running to an interview and looked in the mirror, having a business casual outfit on with a puffer jacket. I knew something was missing so I looked deeper in my closet and brought out a trench coat that I had packed but never really made use of. It was then that I noticed the addition of both silhouette and style that a trench coat can offer any outfit! Ferragamo and Saint Laurent coats in Vogue’s runway were outfitted with dramatic details, such as Holmesian-esque capes and caved attachments to the neck and chest. There are even high-buttoned trenches seen at Bottega Veneta. Trenches are a weather-proof essential that have been reimagined by so many designers. I don't know if it's just me, but I feel so much more sophisticated when I wear a trench, weather-proof item whether that is from a contemporary label, such as H&M, or high street brands. I would love to see how you all style a trench this spring!

Next up, we have ice blue hues that add to the etherealness of white this spring season. It is such a graceful color that is seen in the shape of gossamer blouses (Givenchy), a full suit (Stella McCartney), and leather coats (Proenza Schouler). What I love is when I'm opting for a more edgy vibe, I wear black as a base! Ice blue has always been a beautiful color that I have wanted to get my hands on, and I am definitely glad it is a highlight of this season.

Lastly, we have air-cool materials for when it starts getting warm! With temperatures rising, openwork knitting techniques from various designers are meant to behave as wearable air-cool. However, you can even style some of this openwork, like Diotima’s beaded tank, making the exposure far more palatable for days when it is a bit more chilly. Staud’s crochet dress or Calle Del Mar’s sequin skirt, my personal favorites from the runway, are great for sandy and beach getaways - which I think we are all looking forward to in these upcoming months!

Spring fashion is alive with excitement, featuring trends like minimalistic whites, classic trench coats, serene ice blue hues, and breathable materials. From effortless chic to timeless appeal, these trends highlighted by Vogue can match so many occasions. I hope you embrace the season, feel the fresh energy and confidence in your style! Talk to you soon!
